I found this interesting floor in Andover yesterday – always pays to look down as well as up and always good to turn one’s gaze away from the job in hand every now and again – keeps things fresh. Made me want to go back a shoot more of it.
I was lucky enough to receive, from Kate at #Updown Gallery, a complimentary ticket to this year’s Art14 show at London Olympia. It was an interesting few hours and also allowed me do dust off my happy snapping camera that I haven’t used for a while.

Out this week and on the cover of Mayfair Times is the shot of artist Mat Collishaw I did a couple of weeks ago. Working in a very busy hotel lobby in the early evening was always going to be a challenge but we managed to get a series of pretty decent portraits in the end and with a minimum amount of disruption for the guests.
It’s been a busy week or so with great weather which is great for work but less so for doing other stuff. Yesterday, was typical I started to the West of London, then went to Teddington in West London, then Wimbledon (SW London), the Sydenham (SE London), then Greenwich (SE) and then back home. Which adds up to a lot of driving and quite a bit of shooting in between, but not much else. Still, I did find myself in a DIY superstore with some impressive escalators so given the dearth of time I shot those for fun, before moving on to my next location.
After a decidedly monochrome start to my week, today I have been immersed in the succulant and wonderful colour of Chagall’s beautiful stained-glass windows at Tudeley in advance of a pending commission to photograph stained glass at the cathedral. The architecture of the church itself is pretty dull but this makes the windows even more brilliant. (For more information visit: http://goo.gl/ogKsr )
Then tomorrow I’ll be back in the world of commerce photographing a car show-room. All good stuff.
